My last first post...maybe
I've blogged before. Countless new blogs have I started and abandoned. I am a terrible blog mother.
So I've given up my aspirations of having a blog that intensely gratifies the readers. In fact, I am not really interested if you read this at all. The truth is, I am a writer at heart, and if I'm not typing or writing or journaling stories or thoughts, I'm creating worlds in my head. But I am done hiding in the shadows of my own imagination. I am putting my thoughts out there for the world to read or not for the last time. I am going to write for my own pleasure, and if you'd like to read over my shoulder, you are more than welcome to. I invite you to be as avid a reader of my works as you please.
A question I have never yet been asked time and again is this, why did you call your blog "Daring Misadventures"?
I am so glad you asked, gentle reader, because I would absolutely love to share my heart on this matter.
It all began the very moment I started this blog. I was tripping over the dead bodies of past blog names I've had, ones that I loved in the moment and then let starve to death on the web that is the internet, when I stumbled upon a little name I had never thought of before. It was delightful! It was mysterious and vague...and most importantly, the domain was available.
Which brings us here, to this moment. I like to think that life, in the best possible way, is a misadventure. Not in a bad way...but never as we planned. We go boldly into our day with thoughts and hopes and dreams, that go awry in some way or another. I don't think misadventures are necessarily a negative thing, for they can force us to detour down a path we would never have taken otherwise.
Have you ever had to take a detour because of an accident or road construction, and you see places you didn't even know existed? A store you've never seen before, a beautiful abandoned house down a backroad, a delightful field of alpacas...the opportunities are limitless! Misadventures can take us to the most unexpected treasures.
So when life becomes a misadventure, dare to lean into it and learn something you didn't know before. Use it as an opportunity to see and understand in ways you've never seen or understood before. Meet new people, experience new things, embrace the learning moment.
You've got this.
I've got this.
Welcome to Daring Misadventures ❤
